Join us for Industry Night with MSP Film Society, a social evening with acclaimed cinematographer Roger Deakins & collaborator James Ellis Deakins. They will be discussing filmmaking, Roger’s monumental career in cinematography, their photography book BYWAYS, and their popular cinematography podcast TEAM DEAKINS.
This in-person conversation will be hosted at the Machine Shop event center and will be moderated by on-set photographer Wilson Webb, who has photographed the making of many of Deakins' films, including A Serious Man, Prisoners and True Grit.
Industry Night is the perfect time to connect and network with your fellow Minnesota filmmakers. Come early for an industry social hour.

TEAM DEAKINS
Team Deakins podcast is an ongoing conversation exploring the world of image making, filmmaking, and the many unique roles within it.
Sir Roger Alexander Deakins, ASC, BCS is an English cinematographer best known for his collaborations with renowned directors such as the Coen brothers, Sam Mendes, and Denis Villeneuve. He is the recipient of five BAFTA Awards for Best Cinematography, and two Academy Awards for Best Cinematography from sixteen nominations. His best-known works include The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Fargo (1996), O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), A Beautiful Mind (2001), Skyfall (2012), Sicario (2015), Blade Runner 2049&(2017), and1917&(2019), the last two of which earned him Academy Awards.
Deakins is married to Isabella James Purefoy Ellis, and they have worked together on various film projects, including The Goldfinch and 1917. They co-host the successful podcast TEAM DEAKINS, which features interviews with filmmakers, actors, and other members of the film industry.

WILSON WEBB
Wilson Webb's work as a unit photographer on over 35 feature films has garnered critical acclaim and recognition within the industry, including an award in Excellence in Unit Still Photography Award from the ICG Publicists . His photographs have been seen in countless publications including the New York Times, Variety, and W. His ability to capture intimate moments on set and convey the essence of a film through his photographs has solidified his reputation as one of the most dedicated unit photographers in the business.
In addition to his work on set, Wilson has also been a guest on the Team Deakins podcast, where he shared insights and stories from his experiences working with some of the most renowned directors in the industry, including Paul Thomas Anderson, Todd Haynes, Greta Gerwing, Noah Baumbauch, Ben Stiller, Richard Linklater and the Coen Brothers.
